Dave MacLeod is a professional climber based in the Scottish Highlands, with 27 years of experience. He is the second person ever to free solo an 8b (5.14a), has climbed some of the hardest trad routes in the world (E11-7a), sport climbed up to 9a (5.14d), and established bouldering problems up to 8B+ (V14).

Dave is also known for his writing on climbing training and improvement. He holds degrees in Sports Science, Exercise Science, and Human Nutrition, and has been blogging and vlogging for 15 years. His two books on climbing training and injury prevention are wordwide best-sellers.

Outside of climbing, he studies and writes about sports science and nutrition, spends time with his wife Claire and daughter Freida, and makes mountain films.
